| 11 May to 6 Sept 2008 | EAST WEAVES WEST A dynamic exhibition of contemporary basketry bringing together for the first time over 110 artworks by 47 leading makers from the UK and Japan. Offers a comprehensive insight into developments in the art of basketry from opposite sides of the world. In association with this Exhibition there will a big gathering of Basketmakers from all over Europe plus some extra Japanese crafts on the weekend of 30/31 August. The week before this the Dutch Basketry Summer School Courses will take place. Traditional Dutch willow work by Jose Schilde, German willow techniques by Dieter Derringer, Mary Butcher workshop, Willow skein work by Esme Hoffman, Spoon carving by Jan van Schaik, Card Weaving by Marijke van Epen.
