Membership Benefits

We aim to be of interest and help to all those concerned with basketry, chair seating and allied crafts, whether professionally or as a leisure activity.

Members receive a regular illustrated Newsletter of 60-80 pages, four times a year, with an index every two years. This contains announcements and reports on events, national and overseas, practical articles on techniques, book reviews, historical items, course lists, letters and advertisements from suppliers. Members have priority and reduced rates for advertising

Members are given priority and reduced rates at the Association's Spring and Summer schools, and other BA-organised courses. Members become eligible for bursaries to attend courses or for specific studies, and may purchase our occasional publications and DVDs at reduced rates and borrow from the slide library.

Members are given access to around 1000 others with a huge range of experience and expertise in all aspects of these crafts in over 20 countries. While the Association is based in Britain, around 15% of its members live overseas - but keep in touch via our quarterly Newsletter.

Charges

We accept credit/debit card payments through PayPal. You don't have to join PayPal to use your card. If you join or renew in this way, we will email you as a reminder when your next sub is due.

If you prefer to pay by cheque, we can accept Sterling cheques drawn on a UK bank. If you use online or telephone banking, you can set up an automatic payment from a UK account or use our IBAN number for international payments.

Click on the category of membership you wish to purchase or renew and you will be taken to our online application form, where you will be asked to enter your details and confirm how you wish to pay. You can stop the process at any point right up to the last step where you are asked to confirm that you wish to pay. Please note that "UK" includes only England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The other parts of the British Isles (Eire, Isle of Man, Jersey and Guernsey) count as Europe. The "EU" category is defined by postage rates rather than politics or geography.
