Our aim is to promote the knowledge of basketry,
chairseating and allied crafts; their making, study,
collecting, teaching and use.

To set standards of teaching and quality of workmanship
and to encourage original design.

We promote classes, courses, exhibitions, lectures
and discussions.

We award bursaries for further study, both at
formal courses and for periods of travel.

Looking for a Basketmaker or Chairseater?
The comprehensive Business Register and the Trade Directory provide information about basketmakers and chairseaters who run craft businesses. The Business Register represents a huge range of styles and skills from traditional to contemporary. The Trade Directory lists some full-time commercial willow basketmakers who have been selected by a panel of senior basketmakers.

NB. We have taken every care with both these lists. The Basketmakers' Association cannot warrant
the quality and timeliness of anyone included. All contacts must be made directly between the maker and the customer.
